Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship

Our professional veterinary practice follows the regulations of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario. The Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) is the foundation of clinical veterinary medicine. A VCPR is established when a vet and client agree on services for animal(s). A VCPR is required before any veterinary services are provided, and is separate from informed client consent. The veterinarian must establish the VCPR and can choose when to enter into it. Services and products will only be dispensed at the veterinarian’s discretion if they have seen the animal(s) within a year of their last physical examination.
